FORUM 14: This Land

Ok we are in the home stretch! The assignment load in this class is heavy the last two weeks, and I know many of you have other courses with final exams, essays, etc. For our last two discussion forums I want to keep it relatively light...

One podcast I did want to make sure you are all aware of though is This Land. https://crooked.com/podcast-series/this-land/ The first season of this show follows a Supreme Court case that ultimately ruled that the eastern half of Oklahoma is still a Native American Reservation, a decision that has significant implications for the people that live there and the natural resources of the area. An interesting twist for this podcast came when the Supreme Court at first ended its session without deciding the case. All the buildup for the show had gone into the final weeks of the term and then they were left with a huge question mark. They ended up pausing the show and coming back a year later to do a final episode once the case was decided.

This Land is an extreme example of extenuating circumstances for publication scheduling. This week, I simply want you to post what your publishing schedule will be for your podcast (If you aren't planning on publishing your show, describe what you think an ideal publishing schedule would be). Are you thinking once a month? Once a week? What day of the week and what time? What factors are driving your choice?

To receive full credit you should make a meaningful comment on at least two (2) of your classmates' posts. A meaningful comment is defined as 2-3 sentences that demonstrate clearly you have 1) read their original post in its entirety, and 2) you are responding to their thoughts and ideas in a clear and respectful way.

PODCAST FINAL

For this assignment, you will finalize the pilot episode for your show. You should endeavor to produce a pilot that is as professional as possible, as this submission should represent your very best work.

To submit your work, click "File" > "Export" > and choose "Export Project to MP3 File." Soundtrap may direct you to click "Save" or to wait until the project is mixed on its servers before it will allow you to export it. Once you have the exported MP3 submit that file to D2L. To submit your MP3 to D2L, click on the "Podcast Final" thread in MODULE 14 and then click "Upload." If you have any comments to add you may do so and then click "Submit." After submitting, you should go back and verify that your submission has posted correctly to ensure you receive full credit for your work.

You should also utilize the "Share" feature in Soundtrap to share the project to my email: jasonguthrie@clayton.edu.
